Multilayered Parts
Multilayered
parts can be produced by rotational molding.
In the pictured
part, a HDPE skin is formed. Afterwards the mold is injected
with a LLDPE resin with a celogen additive. |
 |
The additive
causes the polyethylene in the rotomolded part to foam.
The process allows for
increased wall thickness and stiffness without increasing
the weight. The foam layer also adds insulating properties.
